What it is to be a Trustee

This week is Trustee week and Credu would like to celebrate the wonderful trustees that support the staff to do their job. Very often these folks stay in the background yet the roles they play in any Charity is incredibly important to that Charity. Credu's newest Trustee Is Eluned Yaxley.

It has been an enormous privilege and honour to join the Board of Credu earlier this year.

They say that every day is a school day and I’m constantly learning about the excellent work undertaken at Credu.

For me personally, becoming a Trustee, is both a rewarding way to support my community and a medium to gaining valuable, new skills. It’s also an excellent way to put my professional skills and past experiences to use by playing a small part in making such a difference to the lives of the amazing people who are undertaking caring throughout Powys, Conwy, Denbighshire, Wrecsam and Ceredigion. The Board at Credu has a wealth of skills and expertise that complement one another to ensure the success of the organisation. It should also be noted and of comfort to staff to know that the Board make decisions based on personal involvement and knowledge.

I’ve seen for myself the outstanding Trustee-staff relationship which I believe is extremely important and vital in the charitable sector. Trustees can sometimes forget that staff are often working to their limits and need encouragement, while staff tend to think of trustees as a different species! This is not the case at Credu.

I’m looking forward to developing an excellent working relationship with many more staff members with my allocated area of interest and together :

“All things are possible if you ‘BELIEVE”

Thank you for the opportunity and privilege of being a Trustee - I sincerely hope that I can do my best to benefit Credu in years to come.

Mae wedi bod yn fraint ac anrhydedd enfawr ymuno â Bwrdd Credu yn gynharach eleni.

Mae nhw'n dweud bod pob diwrnod yn ddiwrnod ysgol ac rydw i bob amser yn dysgu am y gwaith rhagorol sy'n cael ei wneud yn Credu.

I mi yn bersonol, mae dod yn Ymddiriedolwr, yn ffordd werth chweil i gefnogi fy nghymuned ac yn gyfrwng i ennill sgiliau newydd gwerthfawr. Mae hefyd yn ffordd wych o ddefnyddio fy sgiliau proffesiynol a phrofiadau'r gorffennol trwy chwarae rhan fechan wrth wneud cymaint o wahaniaeth i fywydau'r bobl anhygoel sy'n ymgymryd â gofalu ledled Powys, Conwy, Sir Ddinbych, Wrecsam a Ceredigion. Mae gan y Bwrdd yn Credu gyfoeth o sgiliau ac arbenigedd sy'n ategu ei gilydd i sicrhau llwyddiant y sefydliad. Dylid nodi hefyd, ac fod o gysur i staff wybod bod y Bwrdd yn gwneud penderfyniadau ar sail cyfranogiad a gwybodaeth bersonol.

Rwyf wedi gweld drosof fy hun y berthynas ragorol rhwng Ymddiriedolwyr a staff sydd, yn fy marn i, yn hynod bwysig ac yn hanfodol yn y sector elusennol. Weithiau gall ymddiriedolwyr anghofio bod staff yn aml yn gweithio i'w eithaf ac angen anogaeth, tra bod staff yn tueddu i feddwl am ymddiriedolwyr fel rhai estron! Nid yw hyn yn wir yn Credu.

Rwy'n edrych ymlaen at ddatblygu perthynas waith ragorol gyda llawer mwy o aelodau staff gyda'r maes diddordeb a ddyrannwyd i mi a gyda'n gilydd:

“Mae pob dim yn bosibl os ydych chi'n CREDU”

Diolch am y cyfle a’r fraint o gael bod yn Ymddiriedolwr – gobeithiaf yn fawr y gallaf wneud fy ngorau i elwa Credu mewn blynyddoedd i ddod.
